CSHB 1842, A bill to be entitled An Act relating to the application of the limit on appraised value of a residence homestead for ad valorem tax purposes to an improvement that is a replacement structure for a structure that was rendered uninhabitable or unusable by a casualty or by wind or water damage.

CSHB 1842 was read second time on April 11 and was passed to engrossment, as amended. The vote was reconsidered and CSHB 1842 was postponed until 10 a.m. today.

Representative S. Thompson moved to postpone consideration of CSHB 1842 until 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25.

CSHB 333, A bill to be entitled An Act relating to an optional county fee on vehicle registration to be used by a regional mobility authority.

CSHB 333 was read second time on April 16, postponed until 5 p.m. April 16, and was again postponed until 10 a.m. today.

Representative Canales offered the following amendment to CSHB 333:

Amend CSHB 333 (house committee report) as follows:

(1)  On page 1, line 5, strike "502.402(a) and (b-1)" and substitute "502.402(a), (b-1), and (e)".

(2)  On page 1, line 12, strike "and".

(3)  On page 1, line 16, strike the period and substitute "; and".

(4)  On page 1, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:

(C)  in which a port authority is authorized to issue permits for oversize or overweight vehicles under Chapter 623.

(5)  On page 1, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following:

(e)  The additional fee shall be collected for a vehicle when other fees imposed under this chapter are collected. The fee revenue collected shall be:

(1)  sent to a regional mobility authority located in the county to fund long-term transportation projects in the county that are consistent with the purposes specified by Section 7-a, Article VIII, Texas Constitution; or

(2)  if there is no regional mobility authority located in the county, used by the county only to fund long-term transportation projects in the county that are consistent with the purposes specified by Section 7-a, Article VIII, Texas Constitution.

Amendment No. 1 was adopted.
