Dear heavenly Father, we want to thank you for this day. Thank you for the opportunity that we get to serve the citizens of the great State of Texas. We ask you to be with our families and friends. We pray for grace, mercy, peace, and comfort on our hearts, minds, and our bodies, Lord, in the days ahead. Amen.

Representative C.J. Harris moved that the house grant permission for all committees and subcommittees to meet while the house is in session, through and including Wednesday, July 12, pursuant to their committee postings.

RULES SUSPENDED
Representative C.J. Harris moved to suspend all necessary rules to allow the chair of the Committee on Resolutions Calendars to prepare and distribute a suspension congratulatory and memorial calendar to be considered on Thursday, July 13, at a time to be determined by the speaker.

THE SENATE HAS PASSED THE FOLLOWING MEASURES:
Relating to providing property tax relief through the public school finance system, exemptions, limitations on appraisals and taxes, and property tax administration; authorizing the imposition of a fee.
Relating to the amount of the total revenue exemption for the franchise tax and the exclusion of certain taxable entities from the requirement to file a franchise tax report.
