When Record No. 3 was taken, I was attending important events in the district in honor of Veterans Day. There was no pending legislation before the house or any other business scheduled over the observed Veterans Day holiday, and I submitted a request for an excused absence in advance. Due to a lack of quorum, it could not be read into the record or voted on.

Anderson, Cunningham, Leo-Wilson, and Troxclair

The invocation was offered by the Reverend Callan Sweeney, chaplain, as follows:

Almighty God, we give you thanks for this state, our nation, and our home. So too do we give you thanks for those who have answered the call to serve and defend her. As you have spoken, blessed indeed are the peacemakers.
These, our sons and daughters, have born a heavy burden. Many bear it still. Grant them and their families your grace and your healing, O Lord, and may they know and experience the gratitude of this land and this people who are forever in their debt.
For our part, help us in our commitment to honor and support them, and that the service of this house would rise to their example, until the day when your lasting and final peace is established forever throughout all creation. We ask these things in your holy name. Amen.

The chair recognized Representative Jetton who led the house in the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas flags.
